The HUB

(Harnessing Unlimited Brilliance) Ages 15-24

Program Components

We propose launching the “HUB (Harnessing Unlimited Brilliance)”, a hybrid in-person and digital experience housed at the New Hope Resource Center in Winston-Salem, supported by WSSU and corporate stakeholders. The HUB is where emerging adults, aged 15-24, can access training, employment opportunities, education, mentoring, and support services.

 

Key Pillars:

 

Leadership & Life Skills Training

6–8 week cohort-based program.

Soft skills, financial literacy, decision-making, and civic engagement.

 

Retail & Fashion Innovation Lab

Hands-on learning in sneaker design, merchandising, visual branding, and supply chain basics.

Guest sessions with corporate professionals and local creatives.

 

Entrepreneurship & E-Commerce Boot Camp

Youth learn to build personal brands, start small businesses, and launch online stores.

 

Mentorship & Exposure

Mentorship from corporate stakeholders.

Field trips to local Foot Locker stores or regional headquarters.

Career panels and virtual coaching.

 

Workforce Readiness & Job Placement

Resume writing, interview prep, and job matching (including internships or part-time opportunities).

 

Community Impact Projects

Participants create service projects to give back to their community using leadership skills.

 

Target Population

Youth ages 15–24 from low-income backgrounds.

Justice-involved or disconnected youth.

Students from local high schools, Forsyth Tech, or WSSU.

 

Expected Outcomes

100 youth served annually.

Increased employment and entrepreneurship readiness.

Stronger pipeline of diverse talent into local and national retail/creative industries.

Strengthened community reputation and visibility for corporate stakeholders

 as a catalyst for change.
